Public Policy Issues

Comprehensive Sex Education: Organize events as part of our People of Faith for REAL campaign for comprehensive sexuality education and emphasize that the majority of religious Americans believe in supplying America’s youth with medically accurate sex education that speaks to the realities of their lives.

Affordable Birth Control: We believe that birth control should be affordably priced and accessible to everyone, including college students and people living in poverty. Learn more, spread the word, and take action.

Environmental Justice and Reproductive Justice: SYRF has partnered with the Sierra Club to create a series of programs on faith, reproductive justice, and the environment. Learn more about how to get involved here.

Organizing Tools

RCRC’s Night at the Movies: Enjoy a night at the movies with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Choose one of the films in our “RCRC Presents” movie guide, and take the time to explore how spiritual and reproductive justice issues are portrayed in popular culture. We offer this resource to help you get started; how you wish to use it is up to you. Hold a movie night during finals week at your school, watch one of these over a few sessions of the adult education class at your congregation or spiritual community, or show one of these films as part of a larger workshop; the possibilities are endless!

Challenge Anti-Choice Hate Exhibits on Campus: Use this guide to organize a presence in response to visits from anti-choice organizations to your campus or community. The kit includes a sample letter to the editor and a fact-based response to comparisons made between abortion and the Holocaust.

Message Training: If you weren't able to join us in person for a message training, check out this seven part YouTube series on messaging. We cover the basics using role plays and lots of discussion.
