Registration and use of the SYRF Online Community for SYRF activists
The SYRF Online Community is a social networking site designed specifically for SYRF activists. The community tools allow young adults to connect with one another and share information, ideas, and passion! Your profile contains personal information. Information that is required in order to set up a profile is the following: name, date of birth, email address, and zip code. In addition, activists may choose to include information in their profile relating to their address and gender. Participants will also be asked three diversity questions that are optional and their answers will not be connected to their profile.
As a Community member, you have the opportunity to share other personal information in other parts of the SYRF Online Community such as chatting with other activists, pasting items on bulletin boards, blogging, sharing photos, and other postings. Other SYRF Online Community members can view this information; however the information may not be archived in the system. Please be aware that any information you post in these areas has the potential to be seen by other people in the community as well as other users of the site. Any personally identifying information that is posted is your responsibility and may result in unsolicited messages from unknown people. RCRC takes no responsibility for information posted onto the site; however RCRC administrators will be monitoring the site for inappropriate language and behavior. If you find anything posted on the website to be inappropriate, please send details about the posting, including the page on which you saw it and the URL in an email to info@syrf.org with the words “inappropriate web content” in the subject line. RCRC reserves the right to discontinue any person’s account if the account violates the terms of use (which is accessible via a link on the footer of this site).
The personal information you enter into your profile will be available to those people whom you choose. You will have options that control sharing of information in your profile. You can select/modify these options when choosing your privacy settings. You will choose to be seen by either all community users or nobody. If you choose not to have your profile seen, you will still be able to view/use all parts of the SYRF Online Community and receive emails/action alerts unless you choose to unsubscribe from these communications.
Only young adults (ages 16-29), the staff of RCRC and its partner organizations, and other people affiliated with the SYRF program will be permitted to have a profile and be able to see other people’s profiles.
