SYRF the Web Contest
A few weeks ago, we launched our new Facebook-style social networking site.  We will continue to add new features in the coming weeks but in the meantime, we thought we'd encourage some friendly competition out there in SYRF world...and host the first ever "SYRF the Web Contest."

Starting today, the first 100 SYRFers to build profiles on syrf.org will receive a swanky "collector's edition" SYRF mouse pad (I am not sure what makes the mouse pads "collector's edition" but they are highly sought after in our office and I'm sure you'll love using them too).  Create a profile by June 25 and you will be entered in our SYRF the Web contest.  Prizes include iTunes and Starbucks gift cards and "SYRF prize packs." (Be the coolest kid on the block and sport a luxurious RCRC t-shirt, and share your SYRF pride with your whole neighborhood while carrying your stuff in a SYRF tote).

Click here for more details.  To create a profile and begin enjoying the wonders that are the new SYRF website, visit www.syrf.org and click "community."  We'll see you online!

Summer travel with SYRF

Picture it now: an official convention credential around your neck, an RCRC t-shirt on your back, and a huge stack of RCRC stickers in your hands (and on everyone around you, obviously).

You may have heard a thing or two about the presidential campaign going on at the moment.  And perhaps you've begun to think about the Democratic and Republican conventions this summer.  Well, we have too...and we want to take you with us.

That's right!  We're recruiting volunteers to join us at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in Denver and Minneapolis/St. Paul this summer where we will host events and distribute materials to raise visibility and create a pro-faith pro-choice presence.  We have secured a small number of hotel rooms and will pay for your flight and meals.  Contact us if you're interested in volunteering during the DNC (August 25-28) or the RNC (September 1-4).

Lastly, if you know spunky people in the Denver or Minneapolis/St. Paul areas, please send us their names as we're looking for local volunteers, too!

SYRFs Up!

I am having a tough time keeping our secret SYRF project a secret.  We will unveil it at the Soiree on June 16 in Washington, DC, which is just one of the reasons I am excited about the event!  If you can't join us in person, visit SYRF.org on June 17 and find out about the project when we announce it online.  Have you RSVPed for the Soiree yet?

In addition to the Soiree, we are launching our "SYRF the Web Contest" today.  I can't even tell you how darn cute the SYRF mouse pads are...so I took a photo of myself with one!  Check out my profile, SYRFerEmily, to see it.

Lastly, our plans for the political conventions this summer are really coming together!  We'll be hosting a SYRF Soiree at the Lucky Strike in Denver during the Democratic National Convention and have other goodies in store for the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul.  But we need your help...so contact us if you're interested in some quality time with the SYRF team at the political conventions this summer.

Five days 'til the Soiree!
